Ms. Kolodin spent her youth in Switzerland and England before her family settled down in Westlake Village, California. It is there she began her ballet training at the Body Arts Consultancy under Bernadette Hill. At thirteen, she moved her studies to the Los Angeles Ballet Academy (LABA) under the direction of Andrea Paris. It is here that Michelle’s training really excelled. She received numerous principal roles and attended some of the most elite ballet schools in the world including The Royal Ballet School Covent Garden, The Harid Conservatory, The Washington School of Ballet, and the American Academy of Ballet, to name a few.
Michelle continued her dance education at Santa Monica College with a focus in modern and contemporary dance studying under Sean Greene (Bella Lewitzky), Karen McDonald, and Cati Jean, among others. During this time she returned to LABA and served as an Associate Teacher, as well as the Assistant to the Artistic Director, Andrea Paris.
She has been teaching and performing in Bozeman since October 2013 with the Montana Ballet Company. Additional Bozeman projects include co-choreographing an exclusive piece for TedXBozeman collaborating with local musical talent Ranges, and dancing & choreographing for IndepenDance Community Dance Project. Michelle is thrilled to be a part of Raison D'etre for its inaugural season.
